Monarch Butterflies are amazing! Their 5 month Spring migration from Mexico to Alberta involves up to 3 generations of butterflies. The ones that land in Alberta (usually southern Alberta, rarely as far north as Edmonton) are the grandparents of the butterflies that left Mexico. The migration covers a distance of almost 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles)This is such an inspirational natural occurrence for me that I was compelled to make a mug collection.
