Misty Mountain Collection was the 3rd collection I ever made. I believe it's popularity may be because of 3 different things: 1. I'm not the only one that absolutely loves the mountains. When in them, we are reminded of how small we are, and how great they are. Their beauty is in how the light reflects off of them and the snow that caps them, casting purple and blue shadows. 2. I throw 3 different techniques at these mugs, making them one of the more time-intensive, but also more visually rewarding and unique collections. And finally, 3. The delicious purply-bluey painterly aspect makes them seem like a painting and a mug at the same time. And as a double bonus: there really is a Misty Mountain in Alberta.... also in Lord of the Rings!
